Calla Lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica), also known as the arum lily, is a species in the family Araceae, native to the continent of South Africa.
It is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial with a preferred habitat along streams, ponds and
river banks. With their trumpet shaped blooms the calla flower is a blossom of unusual splendor whose presence is the symbol of rebirth and new beginnings.
It is no surprise that the name calla lily comes from a Greek word for beauty and has been associated with holiness, faith and purity.
